My experience with tutoring, employee training and working with my own two children has shown me that there are many different learning styles and paces. While attending undergraduate school in Colorado I tutored classmates in Spanish, Italian, and writing. I also volunteered as a law clerk and taught Greek Mythology and Sociology to middle and high-school students expelled from school and placed in the Boulder County Juvenile Justice Center.

I feel children are very self-aware and are very vulnerable to positive and negative feedback. Therefore, no matter how little progress is made, praise them. I was more of an instructor than a teacher. I was a day camp counselor at Solway House parent/child resort in Saugerties N.Y. I instructed kids how to swim, dive, play various sports and gave dancing lessons to the guests. As a high school student I tutored 7th and 8th graders in an after school community center. I was one of a few staff at the University of Connecticut to instruct graduates and staff in the use of the various electronic facilites available to them.
