I have been a camp counselor, a high school and college teacher, a GED teacher for the Federal Bureau of prisons, and a life-long tutor and trainer. I have taught GED, college courses, high school classes, etc. I have successfully tutored students, all ages and ethnic groups, in Elementary and High School Math, MCAS test prep, SAT math test prep, Accounting, Algebra, Geometry, etc.

Accounting is one of my top subjects! I have over 30 years of Accounting experience in a Director of Finance or Controller position. Am presently working as a freelance accountant. If you are an accounting student majoring in Principles of Accounting and more advanced, but do not specialize in Cost Accounting or Taxes

I have taught Accounting and Hospitality courses in two community colleges in Connecticut. I spent 11 years as a Controller in the Hospitality Industry working for 4 different hotel companies throughout the US specializing in building new and renovating older hotels. I then settled in CT and worked in the non profit field at the Hartford Symphony Orchestra and then with the CT ST Dental Assoc. I also spent 4 tax seasons with a local CPA firm then decided to do freelance accounting. I work with different clients and help them with their accounting needs.
I do not believe in lectures but in comparisons to real world and one on one discussions.

I really enjoy tutoring students one on one better than teaching in the classroom, because of the one on one contact, because I have found it helps take the pressure off the stuent to facilitate learning. Also, by taking a short time to learn myself about the person's background, it helps me to better understand how to best remove any obstacles that may be standing in the way.
