A Little Bit About Me...

I have had experience in tutoring mathematics at local community colleges. I have also tutored chemistry, physics and many medical subjects informally. I have finished classwork in a medical program and have assisted with many classes, mostly in physiology related courses.
I enjoy tutoring, especially with motivated people. I have much experience in translating difficult academic problems to meaningful skills. In my own experience, the key to learning has been to find a "critical link:" that is, to figure out an angle that makes sense to my brain. It is one thing to be exposed to a subject, and another to understand, remember and easily employ what is learned. Everybody thinks differently, so the key is to discuss and explore the topic with a student until you see that they've experienced that "aha" moment.
