My comments on tutoring Organic Chemistry : Completed over 9hrs organic chemistry and over 12hrs inorganic

I would describe my teaching style as dynamic, creative student-centered
I've either taught or tutored in some form or fashion for over 17yrs now. I've had ages 3yrs to 22yrs old covering all manner of subjects and hobbies. One of my most rewarding experience was with an 18 year old special needs 10th grader ready to drop out of school. We met 2-3x a week for 6mths. In that time he raised his GPA from 1.2 to 2.7. He completed his 10th grade year and went on to take and pass the G.E.D. the following year.

I am an upbeat, organized, an intelligent tutor who loves to teach and does so best through participation. Not only do I explain concepts in a manner that students will understand but I also require this participation through asking questions and requiring students to solve problems in front of me so that I can detect specific areas of weakness. I attended DePauw University and graduated in 3.5 semesters with a degree in Biochemistry and a GPA of 3.41. During the spring semester of my junior year I spent the semester, 3 days per week, assisting one of my college professors teach the advanced chemistry class at the local high school. I had experience giving lectures, assigning homework, and helping students one on one with their chemistry work.
