The 2009-2010 school year will be my third year as a substitute teacher. I have worked with all levels of students, from special needs elementary to AP high school courses, and in both urban and suburban districts. I had some training as an educator in college but have lots of real world experience as well. I have a deep understanding of research strategies and love all of the social sciences. I also am a parent to a third grader who recently tested into her school's gifted program and have plenty of experience supplementing curriculum to encourage the accelerated learner.
I believe that no two students learn alike and the most important thing is to make sure students are having fun with learning. Having attended Heidelberg College and receiving a Bachelor's degree in English, as well as a Bachelor's degree in Theater/Communications, I feel I have the necessary experience in order to educate others. Furthermore, I will receiving my Masters degree in English from Tiffin University this spring. With my educational experience as well as classroom experience I feel that I am fully capable, as well as eager, to teach others. Though I do not having previous teaching experience in a classroom setting, I have, however, tutored my friends as well as family in the subjects that my degrees relate to.
