While earning my degrees in biochemistry and psychology, I found many opportunities to tutor. I worked for four years in the department of Minority Affairs as a tutor of calculus, biology, and general and organic chemistry, but the majority of my students sought assistance in chemistry. Here I taught mostly adult students but I also had a few high school classes. I found it was more satisfying teaching the younger students and so I looked for work at the elementary level.
