I have helped tutor AVID high school students when I was a senior at Cherry Creek High School. I enjoy helping the kids learn and believe that being a tutor would pay it forward since I had so much help from tutors. I always helped my friends out because I was in higher level classes than them some of the times. I also worked with tutors and know how much of a difference they can make. When I graduated college I found myself wanting to help others. I began doing this by counseling youth who had substance abuse issues. For a time I also worked with the youth at a homeless shelter. Helping them with homework, ESL studies, and math skills. The youth there were a variety of ages and backgrounds, so I had to adapt my style to their needs.
