I enjoy working with children and understand that everyone has a unique learning style. An effective teacher works with this while exercising patience, care and consideration for students as they guide them to subject mastery. My preferred method of teaching is show and do. A Little Bit About Me...

I started substitute teaching when I was in undergraduate school just as a source of income and because I like teaching. My mother is a retired teacher who taught for over 30 years. I work as an engineer but I always find time to tutor. I have tutored with an SES program and have found that this worked really well. Focusing on how the children learn as a method to approach how they should be tutored is very effective and the children learn.
I have substitute taught for over 16 years and this past year I worked with the SES program tutoring. My areas of focus are sciences and maths but I have had to tutor reading. This year I tutored middle school students but I have tutored elementary as well. I tend to focus on the high level maths and sciences often taking long term positions in high school.

I love tutoring and mentoring kids, period. It's spiriturally rewarding to me as an adult to have a part in a child's development. I believe every child is special. I have earned a BS in Physical Education. My major was Athletic Training, which has prepared me to gain extensive knowledge in Biology and Anatomy & Phys.
