Writing is one of my top subjects! My award-winning writing career spans 38 years. Accolades include a Katie Award and three “Council for Advancement and Support of Education” awards. I have been published in national newspapers and magazines, as well as on-line. My syndicated column, “Lone Star Legends,” has appeared in 48 newspapers throughout Texas. I have no set style of teaching. I try to understand how to benefit the individual by examining their needs. Then, we go from there. Some students need an analytical approach, so the material can best be presented as a formula. Others need a creative approach. It really just depends on the student.

My comments on tutoring Writing : I learned to enjoy writing in college and am quite proficient at teaching writing for different purposes, for example, a persuasive essay. I will always love writing and editing, and particularly enjoy good writing - to the point of underlining well-written sentences in books I read!

I have joyfully taught students in grades 1 through 5 in Los Angeles urban schools, and in the suburbs of Plano.
