My comments on tutoring Writing : I've only published one book, but I love writing fiction, especially for children. I have written many successful grants, proposals, and other technical papers. I'm just as good at teaching this subject. It's not as hard, or as easy, as it seems.

As stated above I enjoy working with children of all ages, I have made a difference in their lives as well as them making a difference in my life. I love the many challenges that teaching brings, and believe its a very good experience to discover. All students, regardless of race, gender, learning disability, socioeconomic status, and cultural group, are capable of learning, especially if they have a good teacher. As an educator, I believe that I must be willing to step outside the norm to meet the diverse needs of students, in order to effectively reach them. This implies that I try a variety of approaches. Good teaching involves starting at the child’s level. Teaching that is too confusing, or not challenging enough, will only be a disservice. Students of all ages are welcomed in my world...from beginners to the senior citizen who wants to learn more. I strive to make the learning fun and exciting by finding what works for the student as an individual. They are not all alike and because of this, I find that "cookie cutter" style teaching doesn't work. If something doesn't work one way, I try to find another way to achieve the same goal.
