Learning's only effective if it's fun.

Thanks for reading my profile. I have tutored French and Spanish at my community college. I have conducted "baby groups" for children 6 mo. - 1 yr in a multi-lingual center for children where I worked in Moscow for three years. I have taught groups of adults English as a Second Language at Inlingua language school in DC. I have taught middle school Russian and Critical Thinking, and college first year Russian while in graduate school. I have worked with children ages 4-10 one-on-one in their homes on a freelance basis, during which time I managed multiple clients and did this full time for an incredibly satisfying profession. Teaching young people and seeing them succeed is such a reward. Many students find the conventional school setting difficult and work with greater success in a one on one setting. Getting to know the student and his or her learning style along with some background enables a tutor to create an atmosphere where the student will be most successful. A Little Bit About Me...

I am certified in both elementary and special education through SUNY Geneseo. I have been substitute teaching for the past three years while completing my Masters Degree through Western Governors University. I have tutored three students in reading, writing and mathematics. All three students had learning disabilities and all made excellent progress while working with me.
