I taught English as a Second Language through Black Hawk College for two semesters, and I taught infants and toddlers at Best Beginnings preschool and child care center for 2 years and 5 months. I believe the best way to learn is peer-to-peer learning. As an auto-didact I have the study skills necessary to regurgitate information as taught by the current institutional models. This is an uncreative and highly unnatural way to learn. There's a reason no major discovery was made in a classroom -- true innovation, discovery and learning is an organic process.
I'm a student at Augustana College whose academic record has ranged from public school to home schooling to community college and and even private education. I've worked as a tutor for over 2 years at Black Hawk College, at the same time obtaining an Associates Degree. A Little Bit About Me...

I graduated from the University of Iowa on May 15, 2010 with a BA in Elementary Education and a reading endorsement. Apart from my area of specialization, reading, I also took seven science courses at the University of Iowa, mainly in chemistry. My volunteer experiences have shaped the person who I am today, as I have completed over one hundred hours of volunteer work in schools and hospitals. Approximately thirty of those hours were spent one-on-one with first graders, helping them on math and reading skills and strategies. Furthermore, I completed my student teaching experience in a 5th grade classroom, in which I taught math, reading, spelling, vocabulary, writing, and science.
