A Little Bit About Me...

I primarily teach through activities and ideas suited to meet each individual's need. Through the interpersonal contact and motivation I provide, I feel that I help the student to desire to improve their knowledge and perform better. Depending on the student, I can be an enthusiastic or a calm teacher. By taking courses such as child psychology, I am able to understand which teaching methods and interaction styles work best for each person. I think the best method of teaching is doing practice problems and hands-on work as well as addressing problems expressed by each student.
I am a recent graduate from the University of Wisconsin, Madison with a degree in Nutritional Sciences. This degree required excellent science and math skills to complete. I have multiple degrees in computer and electrical engineering from Purdue University. I also have a partial degree in Accelerated Associates in Culinary Arts from Kendall College and a few classes in Computer Science in the Masters program in Computer Science and the University of Illinois Chicago. I have experience in manufacturing engineering, Research and Development, Sales, Management in Computers and several years as a Chef.
My early teaching and learning style was to do as many problems that were thrown at me in class or the text. I learned quickly that you need to understand the problem in order to solve problems that aren't set up for you. I enjoy teaching and have a lot of patience with my students becuase I believe they all have the potential to meet and exceed their expectations with the proper tutuledge.
