Students learn skills by using them in a realistic, subject-specific context, and in a combined way. So they might use other skills taught before such as note taking, highlighting, all in context. The purpose of the skills are stressed, students are taught not just what to do and how, but also why. My education consists of a Bachelors of Arts degree in chemistry, with a minor in biology and significant field experience in academic research in both fields. My inaugural teaching experience was as an HEOP tutor for introductory physics. I have been a freelance tutor for organic chemistry for over a year, and have tutored Regents chemistry as well, and have volunteered my services to fellow students for two and a half years.
