Hello, my name is Alan Reyes. I am a 19 year old college student attending the University of Florida for a BS in Physics and Astronomy. I have been playing chess for 5 years and have placed first in my section in the Jacksonville Open and two years running in the Sunshine Summer Opens 2013 and 2014. I also placed first in my section at the 2014 CFCC Tornado in Orlando. I am currently rated USCF 1705, based on 24 games. I like to motivate my students by providing background knowledge and examples of application in the world outside of textbooks.
