Currently I am employed as a home-based Family Specialist in Social Work. I teach parenting to persons in their homes. As I teach adults new parenting methods, I also teach children how to respond more appropriately to their parents, thus creating a win/win situation. By earning a Bachelor of Science in Social Work and a Master of Science in Management, I have learned skills that are necessary in both the personal and work world. I am an advocate of hands-on teaching whenever possible. Praise works wonders in getting results from reluctant learners. I am patient and empowering as a tutor, and attempt to discover the best methods for each individual student's best learning possibilities. I have been teaching children since 1990, when I worked as a Naturalist for the Indiana Department of Natural Resources. I did this kind of education for 3 years.
