A Little Bit About Me...

I have taught for 29 years in the areas of Reading and Language Arts in grades 6th-7th- & 8th from 1985-2015 (currently). I have received much training in areas relating to Reading Approaches, Learning Styles, Vocabulay Strategies and Test Taking Skills. I have worked enormous amount of time during my teaching career as an After-School Tutor. I enjoy seeing students succeed after hard work through intervention tutorials. I believe all students can be successful through hard work and preserverance.

Began tutoring career with Del Mar College at age 17, and kept up the work independently until now (23). Won Math Student of the Year at Del Mar College in 2010. Won 2nd Place at the Second Annual Coastal Bend Engineering Competition. I've taught various math, science, and Spanish courses in substitution for professors and teachers. I am in college as a senior this year. I am very good in Math and English. I took five semesters of French and still keep up with it every chance I can. I have tutored in pre-calculus with friends and helped a few in algebra. I adore math, to me it is simplistic and just one large logical problem. A Little Bit About Me...

Upon graduting from college, I became an after-school tutor, grades 4-6, focusing on all levels of homework and emphasis on students who had particular needs. I entered the teaching field in 2005 as a high school English teacher in grades 9 and 12. I learned extensive outlets and skills in regards to test preparation, research, grammar, and real-world applications. My second and third year teaching was in an academy setting focusing on law. I taught grades 9, 10 and 12. There I was able to learn legal gargin, community involvement with our students and their education, and law papers. I attended college later in life. Recently, the opportunity arose to better myself. I chose Early Childhood Education and then continued on to obtain my Bachelor's Degree. Following this, I returned to school for Nursing. Eventually, we moved to Texas where I applied,tested and obtained my LCCA License.
While in New York State, I was employed through the Alternative Suspension Program as an LVN. While there,I assisted with the teaching of students. This in turn gave me the opportunity to obtain my certification in Teaching. I remained in this position for two years. During this time, I had my own case load of 5-8 students grade 7-12. Following this position, I was employed at a tutor for those youth who were home bound.
