Through my volunteer work with church organizations I have over five years of experience mentoring others, which has given me an excellent understanding of the need for quality educators. I worked as a teacher in Kansas before moving to Oklahoma, where I currently work at a local Boys and Girls Club. As I am a current Ph.D. student in English Literature, I have an immense interest in education--not only my own education but also the education of others. As I have been working on my two graduate degrees--an MA and a Ph.D in English Literature--I have been fully invested in preparing myself to become a teacher of English, literature, and composition. I have a BS degree in Animal Science, minor in Biology. I have 20 years laboratory service with the USDA- APHIS- National Veterinary Services Lab, during this time I became a certified Histotechnician, received a HACCP certified and attended ISU to continue my education in Microbiology.
