A Little Bit About Me...

I have extensive experience tutoring middle school through high school age students. I began tutoring groups of students as an exchange student in Austria, in 2012, working with 5th through 10th grade students in English at the BRG Koeflach (the local high school) where I was compensated as an official English tutor. In 2013, I assisted in German II, I would take half of the large class of over 30 high school students and teach the lesson for the day. In 2014, I assisted with German II, III and IV classes, answering student questions during lessons and helping in the classroom. My comments on tutoring Government : I hold a Masters in Mathematics and a Bachelors in Molecular Biology. My teaching certification is EC-6 and just added ESL certified.

I believe all children learn at there own style and pace and that we as teachers need to find what works for the child and help them build on their strengths in a positive way.
I am a certified teacher and have been teaching for 8 years in elementary school. I began my teaching career by accident leaving the law enforcement field to work initially part-time as a teacher. However I really enjoyed working with children and found that I was good at it. Learning through culture and language

Recently graduated, I have taken four years of Spanish. I taught Spanish III and Spanish II last year with classes ranging in size from 31 to 25 as well as having taught French I and French II in the same year. I taught myself a variety of languages mainly Romance languages including French, and Portuguese along with many others still working at fluency.

I tend to be really flexible and try to adapt my teaching style to the learning style of the student. For students who tend to be more tactile, I might have them handle apples if a math problem references apples. If a student is working on a writing assignment, I will offer suggestions (such as marking spelling/grammar/punction mistakes) and help them learn how to correct the errors so they won't continue to make the same errors in the future.
