I currently work in a PreK-12 School setting as a Certified School Library Media Specialist. I am responsible for teaching Prek-6th grade library/research lessons. When I am not teaching I am monitoring 7-12 students who are utilizing the library media cnter. I manage two library spaces, am the primary purchaser for books, technologies, and databases, and work closely with the administration team to meet and exceed curricular goals. Employed at Harrisburg High School, Harrisburg, PA as a 9th grade World cultures teacher (2005-2007). Prior, I was a substitute teacher for the Elmira City School District (2004/05). Currently I am a substitute with the Northern Tioga School District, I work in all grades and certification areas. Due to my extensive substituting experience I can cover multiple subject areas but still have the passion for the social sciences.

A Little Bit About Me...

As someone who loves history I discovered my passion for helping others understand history. Because of this love I pursued a degree in museum studies. I have over 6 years experience in volunteering my time at history museums in order to educate today's youth about the past.
My teaching style is to draw connections to what the students are trying to learn with what is happening today that they might be interested. A Little Bit About Me...

I feel it is important to understand what is different and unique about every student. Not all students will learn in the same way, nor will they find their desire to learn in the same way. I feel it is my duty as a teacher to find what these ways are for every student. Differentiation is vital to the learning process and can only be executed effectively if you know your students.
In high school I tutored junior high students who were having trouble in with school. After high school I joined the U.S Navy, where I trained junior personal for three years.
