My journey through the undergraduate sciences has given me the skills needed to be an effective tutor. I recently graduated from Duke University with a bachelor’s degree in Chemistry and a minor in Biology. I excelled in all my courses during my four years there, and as a result I will be attending a very well ranked dental school in the fall. The most important aspect of my teaching style is my ability to relax my students. I believe if you are in a relaxed environment, learning becomes easy. Chemistry is a difficult subject for many students and I am successful in giving my students the confidence that they can indeed understand the subject matter.
Inorganic Chemistry was my favorite class of my academic career. I had fantastic teachers and decided when I had the opportunity to give back to academia, I would teach inorganic chemistry. A Little Bit About Me...

I hated science and math when I was in junior high and high school. When I asked my teachers questions, they didn't give me the answers I was looking for. Luckily, I got into a great university and found out, after taking a few core classes, that I actually love science. Once I really understood some of the key concepts, I found it to be fun and interesting. I have taught several sections of undergraduate geology labs while attaining my BA in geological sciences and have enjoyed being the one who gets to answer the questions.
