A Little Bit About Me...

I have had over 3 years of tutoring students in Algebra as well as science. I am a member of Phi Theta Kappa and Sigma Kappa Delta where I graduated with honors from LSCS. I enjoy helping students to succeed in their courses. However, most teachers provide just one standard way of learning. I do not believe this is the way that students should be taught. In order to be a great teacher, every subject needs to be taught from multiple perspectives. I believe in my students and that they can succeed if they are given opportunity.

My passion for education blossomed while volunteering as a tutor with Somali refugee children in Pittsburgh, PA during college. I worked with families in their homes to develop English reading, writing, and speaking skills. After graduating with a B.A. in History and Political Science I joined Teach For America, where I taught first grade for two years and substitute taught pre-kindergarten through fifth grade for one year. My tutoring began in high school, when I tutored younger students in any subject, from Math to English. I learned to love tutoring. I enjoy helping people to realize their full potential. The most rewarding part of tutoring, in my opinion, is the look on the child's face when something finally makes sense. I have obtained a BBA from the University of Toledo.
