A 30+ year career in the field of Graphics and Design that included a directorship managing several graphics and reproduction departments. In working for the University of Kentucky I was responsible for varied assignments such as audio and video manipulation, web design, and teaching as well as digital illustrations and CD-ROM development. In my most recent job I designed marketing pieces, packaging labels, business cards, and checked art provided by customers to ready it for printing. Individualized learning/teaching for optimal comprehension

I started tutoring in my teens helping young children with Autism Spectrum Disorders develop English and Math skills as well as speech therapy and public speaking. I tutored my fellow students while attending Carroll Community College in English 101 and 102 as well as Creative Writing. I then moved on to being a one on one with high school students with special needs in the Baltimore area.
I take a hands on material approach to learning/teaching. I feel that young students learn best when they can physically learn, such as through blocks/puzzles/interactive learning devices and other similar approaches. I spent one year as a day to day substitute teacher working all over York County in various special education classrooms. My second year was spent as a long term substitute at an alternative high school for boys where I taught all subjects. My third year I started teaching Specialized Preschool and did this for many years until I retired last year. My students had many exceptionalities. I feel like the less regulations and rules on an art assignment the more playful and creative the individual will be. you have to care about what you are doing before anyone else will.
I love children. While attending high school and college I babysat several children from four months old up to 13 years old. After graduating from The Maryland Institute of Art in Baltimore, I worked at the Baltimore Museum of Art, creating signs, brochures, and the large banners advertising the current exhibition. Eventually, I began my own business in graphics, developing proficiency in graphics software-creating on the computer.
