Everyone is an artist.

I have been teaching for the past two years in the art field and related. I taught at TIC Summer camp in the summer of 2012 how to use the Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere, etc.). I am currently working with an after school program that teaches children between the ages of 6 and 12 what goes behind videogame creation.
I use a personalized and 'hands-off'/demonstration style of teaching. I dislike telling a student that there is a certain method they should use, instead preferring to suggest and show how I would approach a problem or get them to approach a problem differently than how they are at that moment.

Over the last 12 years I have taught children in most settings. I also have experience tutoring adults in math. My current job is working with children who have cognitive disabilities and supporting their families. I graduated from Prince George's Community college with an Associate's degree and from Bowie State University with a Bachelor's degree in Psychology. I am currently enrolled in a Master's program for counseling.
Dedicated, patient, caring and knowledgeable are all the characteristcs that I would want in a tutor. Those are definitely characteristics that describe me. I have worked with children for the past 12 years in settings from private, public and special needs population. I enjoy working with children and teaching. My teaching style varies based on the child that I am working with that time. I have worked with children with all different kinds of learning styles, so I have learned over the years that you have to be flexible and mindful of the specific child that you are working with. Through my experience I have learned to be more patient, understanding and fair when I am working with the children as well as when I am grading their assignments. During the time that I worked with tutoring companies, I was able to tutor students at their homes as well as on the weekends in a school based setting. These two working environments allowed me to have a sense of diversity in the styles of which I taught the children.
