As an educator I love to help children succeed at things that seem difficult to them. I have a double major in early childhood and elementary education. I have found that this degree is very helpful in providing me with the knowledge of where my students are coming from and where they need to go in their education. I spent my undergraduate career preparing to enter Veterinary School. I love the sciences and I thought this was what I wanted to do. After graduation, however, I discovered that this was not the path I was meant to take; I was meant to pass on my love of learning and teach. I entered the education system as a substitute and, after that year, I became a full time high school teacher.
