A person who has strong negative feelings about learning is automatically hindered in any learning environment. I first gain the trust of my students, and then start to build an appreciation for learning in their minds. Once that process has begun, I inject a sense of humor, a sense of patience, and a great deal of love into my teaching. I have been a classroom teacher for over 20 years. I have taught all subjects in elementary school, English, history, and mathematics in middle school, and English composition and literature in high school. Additionally, I have taught mass communication and creative writing in high school. I have taught remedial English, freshman composition, and technical writing on a collegiate level. Will assess the type of style that works best with the student. I'm a college student with a catholic education my entire life. I have a strong background in math and science. I have 1st and second place finishes in biology at tests the university of Louisiana at Lafayette. I also have had math classes as high as Calculus. Algebra I seems to be my specialty though which is why i would like to tutor this subject. I tested out of Algebra I based on my test scored on the ACT and i currently hold a 3.9 GPA and graduated in the top 10 in my class at Teurlings Catholic.
