Experience Summary
I have been a classroom teacher for 11 years. During that time I have taught preschool age children as well as kindergarten and upper elementary students. In addition to classroom experience, I also have experience as a private tutor where I assisted elementary age students reach their full potential. I have also taught private piano to beginning students in my home.
Teaching Style
My style is a calm, relaxed approach to help take students from where they are to where they need to be. I believe in encouraging them even in the small victories, and helping them become engaged in the subject matter at hand. I am able to help struggling students catch up to where they need to be, as well as challenge thriving students to be even more productive and proactive. I believe all students are capable of success, and my teaching style is to capitalize on what they CAN do to help motivate and push them. Positivity always yields more results than negativity!
My Hobbies
I love to craft and make personalized item with vinyl. I love to read, play the piano, spend time with my family, and drink coffee in the peace and quiet.
Other Comments
I love working with students and seeing that light in their eyes when things begin to click. I love to watch them begin to smile and love learning again once things are not so overwhelming. I have been a classroom teacher, and now I homeschool my own children so I understand the struggle parents often have when it comes to help their students through the rough patches.
