Experience Summary
I graduated from UTSA in 1990 and taught in the NEISD system for over ten years. I was the lead teacher for many years in First and Kindergarten grades. I completed summer workshops and trainings in reading during this time. When I started a family I stayed home with my children. I learned when my daughter was three years old that she had a language problem. In 3rd grade they diagnosed her with dyslexia. I tutored her from that point on and she is graduating with honors this year. It just takes the right type of teaching for those who have a different learning style to succeed. I can help.
Teaching Style
I am an Orton Gillingham trained tutor, specializing in dyslexia. My teaching style is a multi-sensory approach. A structured, explicit and engaging lesson is the best way for struggling learners to progress. We go as fast as we can and as slow as we need to, that is the key.
My Hobbies
Dog rescue and training. Reading and attending workshops for my passion... tutoring.
