Experience Summary
***I cannot afford this website's subscription that allows me to contact pupils. I am a broke college student. If you are interested in learning chess or violin, contact me via email(lanehmoore@gmail.com)***
Chess: I have been training my game for tournaments for two years. I play quite a bit of online chess where I consistently rank within the top 90% of players. I have been recognized as a Class B player by USCF standards.
Violin: Violin has definitely advanced my musical understanding. I have spent the past decade studying this instrument and have participated in the La'bri Symphonic Orchestra and String Ensemble. I was trained at the Creative Arts Guild by my former instructor, Jim Burdick.
Teaching Style
Chess: My teaching of chess can either start with the basics of the game or with in-depth tactics and strategies. I am a proponent of the romantic school of chess and focus on studying the old masters of the game.
Violin: I will be teaching classical violin but practice will be integrated with folk music. Lessons can be tailored for a complete beginner or for a novice wanting to refine their skills.
My Hobbies
My hobbies include improving my chess, learning guitar, as well as playing mandolin, ukulele, and trumpet in addition to the violin.
I also enjoy participating in theatre and have used my musical knowledge in some of the productions I have been in.
Other Comments
Chess: The game is a great way to develop strategic thinking while also having fun. I am eager to teach my understanding of this game to any who shows interest.
Violin: Violin is one the most beautiful and versatile instruments. As I mentioned in my summary of experience, it presents a different facet of musical understanding that instruments such as the guitar do not offer.
