Experience Summary
I am a recently retired Special Ed. Teacher who specializes in Reading and Writing, especially for deaf or dyslexic students. I have tutored throughout my public and private school career, usually working with former students. Since I am certified to teach using the Wilson Reading Program, I often use these materials to teach phonics skills. I also focus on comprehension skills.
Teaching Style
I like to make a formal or informal assessment of a student's abilities during the first meeting. I design my lessons to remediate weaknesses and build on strengths. My main goal is to have students feel comfortable with me so they can do their very best.
