Experience Summary
I am a double native English & Arabic speaker, happy to help anyone reach fluency. I lived half my life in the US and the other half in Cairo, Egypt and that is the reason for this double fluency. I leaned Arabic when I was 10 years old when I moved to an Arabic speaking country and it was hell learning such a different language but eventually I did and it all made sense in the end (as all things tend to). It was new and frustrating, embarrassing, confusing and stressful all at the same time and if I could make that journey of learning this new language easier for anyone I’d be thoroughly happy to. It was a steep learning curve, that could have been smoother, and unlike other tutors you will find out there I am not only fluent, accent and all, in both the language I’ll be teaching you as well as the language of direction, but I’ve also had the experience of learning from scratch and having deep knowledge of the difficulties you’ll face and how to overcome them.
Teaching Style
It’s really up to the student. Everyone learns differently and wants a different kind of teaching style to be used with them. I do think the most helpful dynamic is where a student asks questions and uses me as a tool to fill in the gaps of their own learning. Grabbing a language by the horns and only learning what makes you curious is a great strategy. Other students need more structure and direction at the start and that is fine as well. I am happy to help anyone reach their goals in language learning no matter how our tutoring sessions play out.
My Hobbies
I love travel and meeting new people. ;)
