Experience Summary
I have taught in both suburban schools at the high school level and urban schools at the elementary/middle school level. While teaching I previously have tutored students. My main experience teaching has been various science courses but I have also taught math and reading.
I began my education thinking I would be an elementary school teacher but then discovered my love of science so I took additional classes while completing my Master's so I could be certified to teach science. When I began teaching I realized many special education students were not receiving the appropriate accommodations to ensure their success so I decided to specialize in Special Education as I pursue my PhD so I can offer the best education to my students and help them become successful and feel confident with their new skills.
Teaching Style
I love interacting with my students and finding out what drives them and what they feel hinders their success. I choose activities that make learning fun while making the information relevant and easy to understand. I also strive to build up a student's academic confidence. I believe all students can be successful in anything they put their mind to, sometimes it may take longer for the light bulb moment but I am willing to do anything I can to ensure they reach the point where they fully understand what they are learning and can apply their knowledge not just recite it.
My Hobbies
I enjoy spending time outdoors, camping and hiking. I love all animals and enjoy spending time with my children being silly, creative, and teaching them to cook.
