Experience Summary
My background in the visual arts is diverse and intensive. I started as a designer for theatre and then studied painting at the grad level. I have done intallations and photography for the City of Philadelphia Mural Arts Project, published a year-long photo project book, and will be teaching at Pratt Manhattan in the spring. I have tutored for about ten years and also have taught art at LSU and for Temple University.
Teaching Style
I work with each student to challenge and encourage them. I believe successful drawing is a mix of knowledge, curiosity and effort that needs to flow naturally. I draw side-by-side with my students and draw almost every day. I work with beginner's and advanced students and give it my all.
My Hobbies
Biking, cooking, reading, museums.
Other Comments
While there is no royal road to learning, I believe setting out prepared, with an experienced and dedicated guide, makes the journey much more enjoyable and rewarding.
