Experience Summary
For nine years I have been successfully employed as a full time creative writing / ghost writing professional. My work has appeared in The Yale Law Review, The Huffington Post and successful retail e-books. My creative writing has been published under my own name, and I am a prolific creative and business writer.
I have successfully mentored more than ten professional writers in virtual environments to pursue part-time to full-time contract writing and in poetry (spoken word) performance.
Teaching Style
Inspiring students to "let go" and tap into their innate creative talent. I believe that everyone has the ability to write well and creatively, but the "inner critic" acts as an editor (according to Julia Cameron) which prevents people from expressing freely. I teach students how to control the "inner critic" and create from mind to page, and to value the creative process and the act of writing without prejudgment.
As a marketing professional I also routinely teach professionals and business owners how to use WordPress and manage seven corporate brand blogs. Students who are serious about becoming a professional writer must learn WordPress, as it is the foremost program used for corporate websites. I am also a WordPress website designer.
My Hobbies
I volunteer and teach poetry and creative writing in virtual environments (Second Life) and have done so since 2010. I have two blogs, and one poetry collection with more than 900 pieces available to the public. My poetry blog receives about 1,000 visitors per week.
Other Comments
I have a passion for sharing the creative art of writing, and inspiring students to be successfully commercially or creatively with the written word. As a business professional, I have lead lectures on social media management and methods to large groups (50-100 people), webinars and tutored professionally in College and University in Ontario, Canada.
I have a warm, practical and effective approach to communicating and teaching my students and clients.
