Experience Summary
I am a former high school math teacher, and a semi-retired Certified Public Accountant and a Certified professional tutor qualified to teach all math and science subjects through the high school, SAT, ACT, and advanced placement levels. I can also tutor college freshman levels in Calculus, Chemistry, Astronomy, and Physics. In addition, I also tutor all college level accounting, economics, taxation, auditing, etc. subjects. I have been tutoring in my spare time for 22 years, and I have taught seminars in the U.S. and Canada in accounting and treasury operations for not-for-profit corporations for 13 years.
Teaching Style
First we get to know each other. Often I can create examples to illustrate problems based on the student's interests and experience.
If you had any trouble on a recent test or homework assignment, we can begin by reviewing any problems you might have had on those. I will show you why the correct answers are right, and why the wrong answers are wrong. I am an excellent listener, and I always find a way to make the lessons fun.
My Hobbies
I sing in a barbershop quartet and a barbershop chorus. I have also written and published articles on music theory as well as administration of not-for-profit corporations.
