Experience Summary
I am a retired college educator with 33 years of experience teaching all-levels Spanish, Latino culture studies, and the literature of both Spain and Latin America. I have excellent bilingual (Spanish/English) written and oral communication skills with extensive experience in academic writing, proof-reading and editing in both languages
I am also a teacher-training specialist. From 1990 until retirement in 2012, I equipped students to be Spanish teachers. Presently, former students are educators in Texas, New Mexico, and Washington while others teach abroad. Some having earned Master’s, PhD’s and JD’s currently teach at the university level. Others have taught Spanish abroad in Russia, China and do so currently in Dubai, Saudi Arabia.
As for instructional competencies, I have decades of experience of creating/designing curricula for class-settings or individuals.
Teaching Style
I blend motivational and instructional methodologies and custom-design lessons implementing up-to-date, respected second-language acquisition practices to maximize students' learning experience.
My Hobbies
Spending time with family, traveling, visiting museums, reading.
