Experience Summary
Born a poet of parents who are poets, she has always had a deep love and passion for poetry. She is the founder of Planting Poems Workshop that is blooming fast, with dedicated poets. Victoria got her associates degree in business, attended several workshops in poetry and a course at at IOWA University Online, where she made an impression on class students. Her early accomplishments include a scholarship in writing poetry from Writing on the River Institute. Her early publication include, poems published in crimson feet magazine and penwomanship. Victoria was also a performer in the Seen and Heard Festival in Atlanta Georgia, Sprout Seed Award Festival and Def Jam Poetry Slam. She is known for having a witty personality, always smiling and willing to help others.
She is skilled in writing in various styles of poetry, using various poetry techniques and using different methods to create poetry without intimidation or frustration.
She is currently creating her own fee based course in poetry, completing a full length collection of poems and regularly volunteers her times sharing her knowledge of writing poetry, in her poetry workshop at www.facebook.com/groups/plantingpoemsworkshop
Teaching Style
I currently use selected methods taught to me by IOWA University Online and various workshops I attended. Students learn to tell it slant, turning in a poem, writing the narrative poem, building sound clouds for poems, voices, form and other techniques through various exercises and prompts. Students get a good foundation in creating poets so that they may write them stress free.
