Experience Summary
I have an expert level of proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Access, and Visual Basic for Applications (VBA). I acquired these skills as an Information Technology Consultant. I have designed, developed, and implemented applications for organizations in various industry sectors, including Investment Banking, Pharmaceuticals, Healthcare, etc. The applications allowed the novice end-user to harness the maximum capabilities of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Access without having to become an expert or power user.
During the implementation phase of the consulting projects, the end-users had to be trained and/or tutored with regards to the utilization of Microsoft Excel or Microsoft Access and/or the application that was developed. This is where I gained experience in tutoring end-users with a variety of knowledge and skills. Some were intermediate users, but for the most part, the users were novices with little to no experience with Microsoft Excel or Microsoft Access. I was able to cater the training/tutoring process to the unique requirements of each user in order to maximize the level of knowledge and skill acquisition.
The individuals that I have trained/tutored in the past have been adults; however, I am willing to tutor college and high school students who are interested in learning about Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Access as well as Visual Basic for Applications (VBA).
I can assist individuals with no prior experience with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Access as well as seasoned users who want to expand into the development of applications by utilizing Visual Basic for Applications (VBA). Individuals without any prior computer experience are also welcome. I do not assume that a student will have a specific set of computer skills. Instead, I let the student develop the required set of computer skills through the tutoring sessions. I enable the student to develop the required skills by setting their own pace. Each student is unique and will have a different set of questions. By tailoring the tutoring sessions to each student's way of learning, the process of gaining the knowledge and skills is more productive and enjoyable.
Individuals with previous experience in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Access can further enhance their knowledge and skills by learning about Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) and how it can be used to maximize the capabilities and productivity of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Access.
The development of the applications can be achieved through the utilization of Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) in conjunction with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Access. The applications are structured as 3-tiered (front-end, middle-tier, and back-end) systems. The front-end consists of the graphical user interface (GUI). The middle-tier is the modular VBA code that instructs, controls, and interacts with the front-end and the back-end. The back-end is where the data is stored. The applications provide an easy-to-use graphical user interface (GUI) that insulates the end-user from the complexities and intricacies of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Access. Furthermore, the applications automate the execution of a wide variety of manual tasks that would otherwise require an end-user to complete directly.
In addition, I have a high level of proficiency with the rest of the Microsoft Office Suite, including Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint, and Microsoft Outlook.
