Experience Summary
Hello, I'm Amanda and I am a Brown University graduate and current doctoral candidate available to tutor History and English. I am qualified to tutor American, World, and European History as well as ESL, TOEFL, Writing, Reading, Literature and the SAT II subject tests and advanced placement exams in these subject areas.
I am also available to help students preparing to apply to college with their admissions essays, so that they might put their best foot forward. I have had previous experience tutoring high school students in History, English, French and Writing. I am also a guest lecturer for a freshman world history course at a university in New York City and was selected to speak and serve on a panel at an international World History conference in the Spring of 2015.
I am a former Advanced Placement Scholar with Honor in History and English and scored a 750 on the SAT Writing test and in the 95th percentile on the GRE Verbal section. In the past, I have worked as a writer/editor for a music magazine and earned a master's degree in History from the New School for Social Research where I worked as a research assistant.
I look forward to helping you reach your academic goals, and will do so with patience and empathy.
Thank you for your consideration and happy learning!
