Experience Summary
I believe strongly in all students developing their writing skills as part of what it takes to suceed in school, work, and life. My students at Vanderbilt Divinity School where I am a Teaching Fellow and PhD student in Religion, Psychology, and Culture, write in evaluations that I give the most attention and valuable feedback on their writing in terms of composition, the technical aspects of writing, and organization that they have received at the school. I have been writing and editing professionally since I was in high school when I wrote for The Oregonian, Oregon's major newspaper, and was asked to review high school capstone projects at the school district level.
Teaching Style
I love working with students on their writing. My background in pastoral counseling means I am particularly trained to be an empathetic listener who can pretty quickly analyze fears and anxieties which may be affecting school work.
