Experience Summary
For the last 4 years, I have traveled to Mexico to teach. Previously, I spent three semesters teaching young adults and parents from all over the world at The Carnegie Center in Lexington, KY. I began teaching for fun over 15 years ago, giving English lessons to Latino horticultural workers during lunch. My background in advertising and writing seemed to help me move seamlessly into teaching. I returned to the university to study Spanish, and my ESL certification soon followed.
Teaching Style
I teach a in a very relaxed, non-intimidating manner. Students are encouraged to speak and work with each other in group settings. I always determine each student's level of capability in order to teach at the appropriately. Each previous lesson is reviewed at the beginning of each class. Quizzes are given to measure students' progress, as well as student feedback to measure my teaching goals and objectives.
My Hobbies
Running, weight training, guitar, home remodeling.
