Experience Summary
I am currently a Para professional that assists in teaching pre-k students in a competitive environment that is preparing them to excel as they begin grade school. My main focus is teaching reading, reading comprehension, phonics, basic kindergarten math and writing skills.
I have a history of teaching elementary students how to read and become better in spelling and reading comprehension. I also have experience with assisting in homework and speaking skills. I currently run an organization where I speak in different environments, help others come along side me and speak as well as constantly communicate both verbally and in written form to businesses, volunteers and other organizations.I have taken classes on how to become a great communicator both verbally and in written form.
Teaching Style
I have a hybrid/blended style type of teaching. I assess my student's needs as I work with them and set up a plan and style specifically for them. Since I work with younger school aged students I am always teaching with hands on activities that allows the students to become interactive with their learning. They are able to learn through exploration and through discovery, however, I make sure they are also retaining knowledge and learning facts.
My Hobbies
I love to read and look up news articles. I love to sing and do anything music related. I love to eat healthy and work out, travel, work on my non profit, learn about different cultures, volunteer/mentor youth and children, work on crafts and play with my dog!
