Experience Summary
I have significant experience teaching and tutoring over the past 15 years, from the time I began college and was a lab assistant during chemistry labs, through supporting myself through college by tutoring, and finally teaching numerous college and university courses over the last 10 years. I am able to express myself and the concepts being taught very well, and students seem to enjoy my style and enthusiasm. Science and mathematics are the most incredible subjects ever created by humans, and the scientific method is the means by which humans remove or greatly reduce their biases, and thereby arrive at the truth of the underlying reality of the universe. I love to see students suddenly understand a concept, or even better, when they suddenly understand an entire subject matter. I am patient and compassionate with my students, because I really want them to experience that moment of understanding.
Teaching Style
I am a fan of the Socratic method of teaching, where students are led to an understanding of the material through a series of questions designed to help them think their own way to the answer.
My Hobbies
I am an avid reader, who enjoys snowboarding, collecting antiques, motorcycle riding, and scientific research. I am currently involved in the development of anti-malarial drugs. My former work focused on the development of anti-cancer drugs.
