Experience Summary
I have been a local advocate in the Latino community for most of my adult life. I have tutored underclassmen at UNCW, helping with both their written and spoken Spanish, as well as directed private tutoring sessions from my home or a communal area. As a volunteer at Amigos International I accompanied Spanish speakers on visits to the doctor, dentist, as well as traffic and civil court. I also helped promote and plan the 2013 and 2014 Latino Festivals here in Wilmington, and am well known among the community.
Teaching Style
My teaching style is quite flexible. I am a big fan of using subtitled videos to acclimate the ear to picking out certain words, as well as conversing and following the criteria set out by the instructor.
My Hobbies
I am an avid fisherman, hiker and outdoorsman. I also teach guitar and piano lessons and am a great lover of music.
