Experience Summary
I began my 32 year teaching career in the field of music. I taught in the Visalia Unified School District in Visalia, California. I taught classroom music to children in grades 4-6. This was a job that required traveling from school to school encompassing 12 schools a week.
During that time, I worked on completing a fifth year of college in order to obtain an elementary teaching credential from California State University, Fresno. Upon completion on my student teaching in a second grade classroom, I began a teaching position in Lindsay, California teaching 2nd grade for 4 years there.
My next four years were spent substituting in the Rock Hill, SC school district after relocating from California due to my late husband's job transfer. I completed several long term as well as short term assignments. After that I secured a position teaching middle school math at Chester Middle School in Chester, SC.
After completing this position, I began working at Westminster Catawba Christian School where I taught a total of 15 years. Four of those years were spent teaching middle school math and the remainder teaching 3rd grade.
I then decided to retire but still substitute occasionally in my former school, WCCS.
