I am writing in response to your job listing. My work experience and education is exactly what is needed to effectively manage the roles and responsibilities of this specific job. I suspect you’ll find very few candidates with a background such as mine?and it’s one I’d like to put to work on your behalf. I am an experienced and educated special education teacher who recently graduated with my Masters in Education in Curriculum and Instruction from Louisiana State University in Shreveport. While attending graduate school, I maintained a 3.9 GPA while also working as a graduate assistant in the Curriculum Resource Center at the college. My coursework focused on educational leadership and the demands of working as a principal in the schools. I am prepared and ready to work diligently to not only meet, but also exceed all job requirements and expectations as set forth in the job description.
I am considered highly qualified to teach special education by the State of Louisiana. I have taught in the public school systems in Louisiana for 12 years. My experience includes working with mild/moderately disabled students, students with learning disorders such as learning disabilities and dyslexia. I am also a certified reading specialist. I have experience evaluating and testing students to determine the characteristics and demands of their specific reading disorders. I have experience designing student specific plans to then target their identified need areas. I have also worked in a supervisory position when nominated to be head special education teacher while working in Caddo Parish. This job required me to supervise all special education teachers on site so that all paperwork and expectations were met. I ultimately served as a liaison between the school and central office. I am currently teaching English and Language Arts to 7th grade students at a local charter school. Although I am currently employed, I am actively searching for job opportunities which will utilize my very specific skill set and talents. I would like to see if your opportunity would do that.
