Experience Summary
I'm an experienced tutor specializing in Chemistry and Mathematics at the high school and college levels. I earned my PhD in Chemistry from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Chennai. I was a postdoctoral fellow at Clemson University, SC, and have several year's experience in the pharmaceutical industry as a Scientist and continue to help students in learning concepts in chemistry. I consider myself an expert problem solver, and can help my students to improve their problem solving skills. I've helped numerous high school and college students with their courses, including High School Chemistry, Honors Chemistry, AP Chemistry, General Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Physical Chemistry, Algebra(I&II), Geometry, Trigonometry, Pre-calculus, Calculus, and Probability. I am extremely patient, kind and help students to better understand the essence of the course, and to establish solid foundation for the future studies. Tutoring one on one or in groups no more than 3 students, one hour intervals.
Teaching Style
According to me, the most efficient way a student can learn is by focused preparation and constant practice. I reinforce the concepts learnt at the end of each session & give lots of practice problems. Periodic quizzes & assessment tests will be there to make sure the student is comfortable & confident on the topics taught before moving on. "Timed" practice tests for SAT & ACT students, to mimic the actual tests.
