Experience Summary
I earned my B.S. in physics from Loyola University in 2010 and my M.S. in physics from Depaul University in 2012. While at Depaul I was a TA where I assisted in calculus based physics courses and also tutored high school and college physics students on the side. After graduating I became a full time instructor of physics, engineering and astronomy at Moraine Valley Community College in Palos Hills, and just received tenure this past fall. I am currently working on a second M.S. in Science Education which I will complete in the summer of 2016, and this summer will begin a third M.S. in Aerospace Engineering.
Teaching Style
I like to make my approach to tutoring specific to each student. Most students simply need help with problem solving, and so I like to spend my hour or two a week with them working through homework problems (or problems which are similar) where I can determine their approach and try to enhance and improve upon it. Other students need me to re-explain everything they went over in class, and it becomes more of a Q&A session.
My Hobbies
I like to travel around the U.S., and my wife (recently married this past August) dream of visiting every national park in the next decade or so. I enjoy reading science fiction novels as well as books about physics, medical physics (a new fascination for me) and astronomy. I also enjoy bowling.
