Experience Summary
I was awarded the Dean's Award for eight consecutive semesters and graduated with Cum Laude Honors while pursuing my undergraduate degree. After graduation, I was immediately accepted into the Master of Science in Nursing Program in Nurse Practitioner Studies. I am currently studying to become an Adult Nurse Practitioner. I also have gained great experience as a tutor at the Adelphi University Writing Center. In this position, I worked collaboratively with students to help them identify their strengths and weaknesses in writing. I also created unique lesson plans to help each individual student to gain a better understanding of how to overcome his or her weaknesses and become a stronger writer and communicator. I was honored at the National Conference on Peer Tutoring in Writing for my tutoring techniques and methods.
I have experience tutoring students in a multitude of subjects. My strong subjects include: nursing, pharmacology, anatomy and physiology, NCLEX preparation, writing and reading skills. I developed a study plan that helped me to be successful and pass the NCLEX on my first attempt. I would be happy to teach you important study skills and content areas to prepare you for the NCLEX-RN exam. As a result of my previous tutoring experience, I know that I have the knowledge and experience to help you to become successful in your coursework.
Teaching Style
I use practice questions to gauge students strengths and weaknesses. After using these methods, I utilize the results to determine a study plan to ensure your success on future exams. I am prepared to work together to help you to understand the areas that may be troubling you. I also know how to teach you the important skills and content that will arm you with the tools required to be successful in your academic endeavors.
My Hobbies
I am a registered nurse because I am very passionate about helping others. I also love to cook, exercise, and read for pleasure.
