Experience Summary
I have eleven years experience as an elementary special education teacher with Fulton County Schools, at the same school in Alpharetta. I have extensive experience with elementary children with a variety of disabilities, including ADD/ADHD, Autism, and Specific Learning Disabilities.I am familiar with Fulton County's curriculum and content. I am available daytime, after school, and during school vacations.
Prior to teaching I was a general education paraprofessional for three years, a special education assistant for one year, and a substitute teacher with Cobb County Schools for three years. My background is in social work, during which I worked primarily with children.
Teaching Style
I believe that most elementary students benefit from hands on learning and visuals to make connections with learning. These may be implemented through technology or conventional methods. I also recognize that children have different learning styles, and getting to know your child and their learning style is an integral part of developing an individual learning program for them.
My Hobbies
Reading, knitting, hiking, and movies
